ePortfolio Activity 1 was about using different search strategies to find information in the form of blog post and scholarly article  about orbital space debris using different keywords and phrases.

I learned various skills such as how to use different keywords and phrases to search for relevant scholarly journals , blogposts and wikipedia articles on the world wide web. This activity has also given me valuable experience that I will use in my projects for other units  take at university level

MY REFLECTION ON ePORTFOLIO ACTIVTY 2

This activity included taught me how to source information from different search engines for academic information, search engines such as ProQuest and google scholar are essential for many types of resource work and this activity has given me the experience and skills necessary to utilise these search engines.

SYNTHESIZE (ICT)

The UU100 Course assessments, topics and content has been designed based on a set of learning outcomes. In point-form for each key Information Technology learning outcome below identify (i) which topic and or activities the learning outcome is related to (ii) and which skills have you acquired/developed to achieve the learning outcome:

1. Access and use USP’s ICT resources available on-campus and off-campus.

  • Use search@USP to look for articles
  • How to use advanced search on Search@usp

2. Identify and use different features of a computer system.

  • Learnt how to convert word document to pdf 
  • Learnt how to use the automatic bibliography function 
  • Learnt how to automatically cite from ProQuest

3. Use computer applications for creating documents, presentations and spreadsheets.

  • Create eportfolio 1&2 solutions in word and pdf
  • Learnt different features of Microsoft word

4. Familiarize with emerging web-based technologies for educational and social purposes.

  • Use search engines to look for information
  • Learnt how to use ProQuest and Google Scholar

5. Recognise the legal, socio-economic and ethical issues regarding access to and use of information technology and information resources.

  • Cover theory on the various aspects of ICT 
  • Improved knowledge about ethical issues surrounding ICT
  • Discover the importance of ICT in legal and socio-economic aspects
